PROTOTYPE SYSTEM
This is a prototype version of the GLACIS platform. While mostly stable and ready to be used by a wider audience, it is certainly still a bit rough around the edges and many components remain in active development.

INTRODUCTION
GLACIS is an online platform built for the glacier guiding community. In its current form, its primary focus is on providing good, accurate information on ice caves and similar structures on Vatnajökull. By enabling qualified guides to share their observations, it allows everybody to form a better understanding of how this environment changes and the consequences this has on guiding.
This website provides information that requires interpretation by trained professionals. It is not intended for direct use by the general public.
The information provided on this platform relies on observations from the guide community, and is therefore possibly incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. It must be interpreted correctly and can only be an additional piece of information that suitably trained and experienced outdoor professionals can use to form their opinion about the safety or feasibility of their planned tour.
